Why proper books matter in the UAE

Since the introduction of Corporate Tax, accurate accounting is no longer optional. Your taxable income is based on your financial statements, so errors in the books flow directly into your tax position.

  • Financial statements generally need to follow IFRS, with IFRS for SMEs available to smaller businesses.
  • Businesses above certain revenue thresholds, and Qualifying Free Zone Persons, need audited financial statements.
  • Accounting and tax records must be kept for at least seven years.
  • Banks, free zones and investors regularly ask for up-to-date accounts.

Already have an accountant in-house? We can work alongside your team on year-end closing, IFRS reporting or a periodic review, without replacing what already works.

How it works

  • Onboarding: we review your current records, set up or tidy your chart of accounts and agree reporting dates.
  • Monthly cycle: you share invoices, receipts and statements through a secure channel; we record, reconcile and report.
  • Review: you receive your management accounts with a short summary and any points that need your attention.
  • Year-end: we close the year, prepare financial statements and coordinate with your auditor if one is required.
FAQ

Accounting questions

How often will I receive reports?

Most clients receive monthly management accounts. Smaller or seasonal businesses may prefer a quarterly cycle aligned with their VAT returns.

Which accounting software do you use?

We work with the major cloud platforms and can continue on the system you already use. If you are starting fresh, we will recommend one that suits your size and budget.

Can you fix records from previous years?

Yes. Backlog bookkeeping is a common starting point, particularly ahead of a Corporate Tax registration, audit or bank review.
